Email Recovery
Correspondence that matters, preserved for use.
Email recovery from server, client archives, and cloud platforms. Deleted-message reconstruction, attachment preservation, and full chain of custody for evidentiary use. From single custodians to enterprise-wide collections.
Overview
Recovery across every mail system in common use.
Email evidence is often the most consequential digital artifact in a matter: direct communication, timestamped, with preserved attachments and metadata. Recovering it across environments where senders have tried to delete, modify, or archive it requires different techniques than client-side file recovery.
We recover mail from Microsoft Exchange servers, Microsoft 365 / Office 365 mailboxes, Google Workspace / Gmail with Google Vault, legacy SMTP and IMAP servers, local client archives (PST, OST, MBOX, and proprietary formats), and mobile device mail clients.
Recovery of deleted messages
Deleted items from mail stores and server logs. Where server retention or mailbox archive settings allowed it, we can often recover messages long after users believed them gone.
Authentication and timestamp analysis
Message headers and server logs analyzed to confirm send/receive chains, detect forgery or alteration, and establish accurate timestamps across timezones and clock drift.
Attachment preservation
Binary attachments extracted with hash verification. When attachments are themselves the subject of a matter (manipulated images, altered documents), we hand off to the appropriate examination workflow.
Review-ready delivery
Recovered correspondence loaded directly into our in-house iConect review platform or exported in the load-file format your review tool requires.
