Password Recovery

Access to locked materials, under appropriate authority.

We recover access to password-protected and encrypted documents, archives, and financial records when we hold proper legal authority to do so. Court orders, receivership authorizations, authorized internal requests, and expert-witness work pursuant to discovery.

Overview

A forensic service, not a bypass shop.

Password recovery work happens in a legal frame. We accept engagements where the requesting party has clear authority to access the locked material: a court order, a receiver's appointment, an authorized corporate request over company-owned data, or expert-witness work pursuant to lawful discovery.

We have the tools and techniques to break passwords on most common document formats, archive formats, and financial software nearly every time. Where file-format cryptography is strong enough to resist direct attack, we work through alternative artifact recovery - credential caches, backup files, memory-resident keys - with the same evidentiary discipline as any forensic collection.

Document and archive formats

Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, older Access databases), PDF files, common archive formats (ZIP, RAR, 7z), and legacy document formats from older business software.

Financial software

Access to encrypted financial records is frequently the difference between a tractable fraud matter and a stalled one. We have recovered access to most common accounting and financial software, including legacy systems long out of vendor support.
